How it all began
This post is a personal one ...
People often ask me why I picked up a camera — why documenting families, childhood, and all the in‑between moments matters so much to me.
The truth is, my journey into photography is due to some of the most emotional chapters of my life.
Caleb is an IVF baby, and the road to meeting him was anything but easy. Every appointment, every scan, every tiny milestone felt monumental. I photographed it all — not because the images were perfect, but because the moments were. I wanted to remember every detail of the journey that brought my baby boy into the world. I didn’t want any of it to fade.
And long before that, I lost my brother at a young age. That kind of loss changes you. It teaches you, in the hardest way, how precious photographs really are. They become more than pictures — they become anchors, proof of love, fragments of time you can hold onto when everything else feels too far away.
So I suppose that’s why I do what I do.
Because I know how important it is to have something to look back on.
Because I know how quickly life changes.
Because I know the value of a memory you can touch.
Photography, for me, is love made visible.
And it’s an honour to help other families hold onto their moments too

My promise to you

I know family sessions can sometimes feel a little overwhelming, especially with little ones involved. Please don’t worry about perfectly posed moments or perfectly behaved kids. Some of the most meaningful photographs come from the quiet in-between moments: the cuddles, laughter, movement, and love you share naturally as a family. My goal is simply to create a calm space where you can be yourselves.
Kind Words from my clients
Emma is incredible. I’ve never known someone who can make you feel so comfortable and calm. She went above and beyond for my family. My daughter was born 3 months early and we sadly lost her twin sister 💔 Emma went above and beyond to reschedule our sessions when we felt was right and to include our angel girl with the most beautiful gesture in our shoot. I will never forget how special Emma made this for us and can never thank her enough! Not to mention keeping us all cool and calm with our 2 year old tantrums!! She’s amazing. Best work ever!!

I cannot express enough how amazing Emma at Captured by Emma is as a photographer. She has not only taken stunning photos of myself and my little girl but has also captured branding photos of me as a lifestyle photographer. Our connection goes way back, and I've always admired how she excels in her craft, consistently delivering aesthetically stunning photos of babies and newborns. Emma's work is truly breathtaking, and if I ever have another baby, I wouldn't hesitate to hire her for the job. She's definitely killing the game in the photography world!
